The animation compared to the panels of the manga is, in my opinion, depressing. I started with my favorite part from the manga Seth and Myr going full ragemode, and the reveal that Myr is actually Merlin. The first scene I wanted to see animated was a no-brainer. It wasn’t necessarily bad, but the manga was so much more enjoyable… I think two specific examples represent how I felt perfectly. I watched a handfull of scenes, then tried to watch the series from the first episode, and honestly couldn’t make it past the third episode. The anime, in my opinion, is simply an inferior way to experience the story. I must say, I was thoroughly disappointed in the anime, and I will only ever be recommending the manga to anyone I think would enjoy it. I didn’t even know an anime existed, but when I found out I was like “oh cool let me watch some of my favorite scenes animated!” Over the past two days I binged the entirety of what’s been released thus far, and absolutely love it. I had never heard of this series til someone recommended the manga. Bit too much filler and a slow at timesĪfter I found out the manga existed I switched to that and stopped watching then a couple years later went back to watch some more.removal of blood, dirty jokes (some for the better), and the racism references The tone, while not that mature originally, seems to have been toned down a lot.It feels like he went from being a kinda rude, impulsive, selfish child who matures over time in the manga to a bit more of a generic nice guy who just doesn't think things through in the anime It's a bit subtle and maybe just in my head but I didn't like how they changed Seth's character.Animation was alright, nothing to write home about though.I liked that it spent more time in Artemis, hopefully the manga goes back there at some point.I watched the first season and bits of the second and generally didn't like it.
